JUICEBLENDZ Whips Up Franchise Frenzy In South Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 10, 2006 – Ladies and gentlemen, start your blenders. The hottest franchise in South Florida, JUICEBLENDZ, is mixing the next wave of juices and smoothies.

The twist?

“No sugar, no chemical sweeteners, no pre-made mixes. Only fresh fruit whipped with nutritional supplements for energy, weight loss and muscle gain,” says Adam Ogden, the 30-year-old founder of the Weston, Florida franchise.

Twelve of the zippy, high-tech JUICEBLENDZ franchises have been quietly snapped up in the past months. Its flagship store in Weston, Florida opened in 2005. Others are slated to open this year, first in Boca Raton, and then in Miami, Miramar and Coral Springs.

By 2009, Ogden anticipates 50 of the family-friendly stores will crop up in South Florida, Tampa, and the Southeastern U.S. Franchises are currently available in those markets, though going fast. To date, all stores have been franchised through word of mouth.

Ogden is not surprised. “There’s been a cultural shift in our fast-paced society. People who need meals on the go are demanding healthy alternatives to fast foods,” he says. “Smoothies and juices are part of the mainstream. We’re the Starbucks of the future.”

The slickly marketed smoothie spots serve up fresh juice on – literally – a silver platter. Nutritional supplements, developed by Ogden’s long running D&A Nutrition line, are also available. Menus are displayed on plasma screens. The music encourages patrons to hula or salsa. Wheatgrass shots and fresh fruit line the open kitchen where blenders work their magic.

The flagship store which opened in 2005 in Weston, Florida has exceeded sales expectations, says Ogden. Guests can revitalize – or lose weight and gain muscle – with favored smoothies such as the Strawberry Samba and Orange Blendz. Children zoom in on treats such as Smarty Pantz and Chunky Monkey.
